About the Inspired Bride

The Inspired Bride consistently recognized for a great taste level and a fresh take on the wedding blog, we focus on unique, sophisticated details from the ground up that gets brides inspired and best prepared for their big day.

The Inspired Bride™ was born on New Year’s Day in 2009 when Maddy was in the middle of her wedding planning. She found a lot of web sites and blogs that had a strong “Real Weddings” focus but they didn’t fit her way of thinking. Although they were beautiful to look at, she didn’t like having the finished product handed to her and felt like looking at what other people had done for too long would prevent her from injecting her own creativity and personality into her wedding. Call her picky, but she was also looking for something that fit her taste and was also thinking about the big picture. She wanted more of an emphasis on the “how to” – how to pull it together, how to make the favors, how to choose between this and that. She had always been into entertaining and party planning, and she was really enjoying how her own wedding was coming together, so she figured if it didn’t exist, she should just make it!

How Did It All Start?

In short, a whole lot of things, but mainly, my passion for party planning (I was nicknamed “Martha in Training” in high school for my passion for elaborate entertaining) and my own upcoming wedding on May 31, 2009. It also arose from my inability to find any wedding blogs that really fit into my taste and were also thinking about the big picture – a lot of them did a lot of reposting of “real life weddings” which were pretty, but ultimately not as helpful as they could be. I wanted more of an emphasis on the “how to” – how to pull it together, how to make the favors, how to choose between this and that. Since its inception, it’s sort of become my scrapbook of all the ideas I’ve had that I couldn’t incorporate (it’s hard to edit when great concepts are overflowing!) and stuff that I think is really great, chic, or inspiring, but maybe not quite “Maddy and Devon”.
