If there’s something really noteworthy about this wedding (aside from our couple’s undeniable love, of course) is everybody’s outfits that were styled to look flapper and elegant. With the use of fedora hats, the bridesmaid’s knee-length silver dress, and the bride’s hair piece, they captured this vintage era’s style with subtlety and flair. The rest of the day’s details and decors were pretty simple because the location and ensembles were already gorgeous. Congratulations to our couple, Janelle & JD!

What do you think is the overall story for this album?
Janelle and JD have a strong love for the roaring 20’s era to the flying 40’s. They wanted to incorporate a vintage theme into their wedding day nuptials. Janelle and JD live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and decided to wed at El Monte Sagrado resort in Taos, New Mexico. El Monte Sagrado is known in Taos for being the premiere locations for weddings. It was a perfect location for the Schnoors to hold their magically beautiful day. The lush grounds of the Sacred Circle and the open, green space that is surrounded by waterfalls, ponds and towering cottonwoods added to the beauty of their timeless decor. Each guest was adorned in the vintage theme from flapper apparel to fedoras. Music from the 20’s-40’s was the soundtrack of this beautiful day. Photographing the Schnoor wedding was like going back in time. The ballroom that the reception was held in reminded me of a party at Gatsby’s. It was truly an elegant occasion.
What inspired the wedding day outfits?
Along with the theme of the day, every guest as well as the wedding party was dressed in outfits that would’ve fit perfectly in the 20’s decades.
What was your favorite part of the day?
My favorite part of the day was when the bride walked down the aisle to lovely roaring twenties music. Every guest was in awe of her beauty and the groom (Oh my gosh, the groom!) was in tears of joy of her timeless elegance. It was like falling in love all over again. They saw each other in their wedding attire with the biggest smiles on their faces and tears in their eyes and it was a pure moment of love and happiness.
Was there any Do it Yourself (DIY) projects? If so, can you describe them in detail?
The decor was pretty simple due to the elegant aura of El Monte Sagrado. It was adorned with lace candles and the color scheme was light pinks, creams, and silver.
What were the highlights from the ceremony & reception?
The highlights of the Schnoor ceremony was their religious traditions. The couple shared wine from a common cup and then they dipped pieces of bread into the wine and then given each to the Bride and Groom. They were truly joyous as they exchanged their vows and were given their wedding rings. The reception was just as elegant as it was fun. Music was a mix of vintage and modern. The father/daughter and mother/son dances were so sweet and the couple’s first dance was heartwarming.
