Wedding centerpieces beautify the tables effortlessly. Today, we are going to create stunning floral table toppers with just a few materials. Simple, chic and inexpensive.
What you need:
- Tall glass vase (a regular cylinder vase is also a good option)
- 2-3 clusters of fake flowers
- Foam ball
- 2 tea lights
- Crystal water beads
- Pliers
First and foremost, you have to choose your flowers depending on the theme of the wedding. The color must compliment with your reception. Once done, then let’s get started. Grab the fake flowers. Set aside the leaves and using pliers, cut 2 inches from the flower. Cut as many flowers as you can.
Take the foam ball and make holes halfway the ball as inserts for the flowers about 1/2 inch away from each other. Grab one flower and push into the hole. Make sure not to push it too far to give space for other blooms. Take another flower and do the same until you fill the halfway of the ball with blooms.
If you are finished, you are left with both sides of the ball bare. What you are going to do is to make a circle outline using holes which are half an inch away from the first holes. Then again, grab the flowers and push them into the holes. Make sure both sides of the ball are well-covered but not overcrowded with flowers.
If the flowers are secured on the ball, it is time to fill up the glass vase with water beads. Water beads are tiny beads that you soak in water for 4-6 hours to become medium-sized beads you see in this tutorial. So, make sure to do the soaking before we start this tutorial. Get a few handful of water beads and fill up the glass vase leaving about 2-inch of space on top.
After that, grab the tea lights. Make sure to switch them on an hour before the event. Place them facing down so they shine through the water beads creating a glowing effect. One goes about halfway in while the other is placed on top.
For the finishing touch, place the ball of flowers on top of the glass vase. And you are done! See? It is just that easy. A simple project that makes a huge difference in your wedding day.
